Nutrition Education and Counselling

Nutrition education and counselling are critical components of effective dietary management. This track will focus on the principles and techniques that empower nutrition professionals to provide impactful education to clients. Participants will explore various counselling approaches, including motivational interviewing, which emphasizes client-cantered communication and helps individuals articulate their own goals and motivations for change.  session will cover behaviour change theories, such as the Health Belief Model and the Trans theoretical Model, which provide frameworks for understanding how individuals progress through stages of change. Experts will discuss strategies for tailoring interventions to meet the diverse needs of clients, taking into account cultural, socioeconomic, and psychological factors Role-playing exercises will be integral to this track, allowing participants to practice their counselling skills in realistic scenarios. By simulating client interactions, attendees can refine their techniques for addressing barriers to dietary change, fostering a supportive and non-judgmental environment.
